The shop in question is called Air Ambulance Wigston and is located just outside Oadby. The year got off to an astonishing start for those running it with the donation of a chord harp that was constructed in 1882. The instrument was an Arion Schulz Zither and was donated to the shop with its original case included as well as a set of spare strings.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it did not stay on the shelves for very long. The shop is managed by Debbie Green and she told BBC News that a customer had bought it within days for £75.
She then went on to add:
“It came from a man and a lady clearing their mother’s house out. I obviously knew it was a musical instrument but I did not know what it was. So I put it upstairs in order to do some research on it.”

This particular chord harp was made by Curt Schulz. He played the zither for the royal family at one time.
