Plans for the creation of a new children’s home at a site in Oadby have been submitted to the council, after an earlier similar application was turned down.
These plans involve a house that is situated in Fox Hollow and that has four bedrooms. The developer behind them wants to turn this property into a home that would be occupied by three youngsters, who would receive full-time care from qualified professionals.
If the plans are given the go ahead, the children who would live in the home would be aged between eight to 17 years old.
The company that has submitted the application to Oadby and Wigston Borough Council is MADE Architecture. It is similar to one that was rejected by the local authority last year. That application would have seen three children from ages eight to 16 housed at the property, alongside one qualified professional. This trained carer would have had his or her own separate bedroom and office within the property.
