It is being called the Festive Gingerbread Shed Festival and is the brainchild of Midsummer Place. The leisure and retail centre put together a successful Christmas Tree Festival in 2025, and this event is the follow-up.
The centre wants companies in the city to commit themselves as Sponsors for it. Those that do so will receive a Gingerbread Shed that has to be covered in Christmas decorations. The participants have a free rein to be as quirky and creative as possible in coming up with their decorations.
When all of the Gingerbread Sheds are ready, they will be put on display in Midsummer Place. They will form a trail for local people to wander through during the festive season.
Those organising charity fundraisers in Milton Keynes often use local flyer printing outlets to spread the word. Flyers are a very cost-effective and efficient way of doing that.
Kirsty McGiff is the Midsummer Place Marketing Manager. She told the MK Citizen:
“We’d love businesses of all sizes from across Milton Keynes to get involved. Whether you create something traditional, completely outrageous or wonderfully festive, we want each shed to have its own personality.”
Participating firms will be requested to donate £300 for charity.
The festival starts on 14th November and ends on 29th December.
