Milton Keynes to celebrate Oktoberfest

Milton Keynes is all set to welcome a giant outdoor event to celebrate Oktoberfest later in the year.

Oktoberfest has its origins in Bavaria, but it has now spread to other parts of the world. The celebration in Milton Keynes is being put together by an organisation called Oktoberfest UK. Anyone thinking of attending should not be discouraged by that name though; this strives to be as authentic to the traditions of the event as possible. That means lots of steins full of beer, pretzels and German sausage, and Oompah music played by a live band.

The venue for the event will be Campbell Park and local people are being urged to dress for the occasion. Men should wear lederhosen, while women should be clad in dirndl skirts.

Flyers featuring the name and date can be a good way for the organisers of local events to promote them. Milton Keynes has flyer printing outlets, so they can easily be supplied.

The marketing manager for Oktoberfest UK is Tom Cullen. He told the Milton Keynes Citizen:
“The event is all about bringing people together for an unforgettable Oktoberfest experience, with fantastic live music, traditional Oompah bands, great food and, of course, plenty of steins.”

Other attractions will include a photo booth and a village section with various market stalls.

It is scheduled to be held on Saturday 10 October between 12pm and 5pm.
