African music festival to come to Milton Keynes

A massive festival dedicated to the culture and music of Africa will be coming to Milton Keynes this summer, marking its debut in the UK.

This festival goes by the name ‘Diaspora Calling’ and was started up a decade ago. It is the brainchild of former Fugees singer Lauryn Hill, who devised it as a way of honouring African history, music and culture. What began as a single live performance and art show in Brooklyn has now grown into an international festival, which is coming to Britain for the first time in 2026.

Hill is set to be the headliner for the festival in Milton Keynes and she is not the only big name artist confirmed to appear. Her ex-bandmate Wyclef Jean is also on the bill, along with Zion Marley and YG Marley. More people will be announced over the next few months.

People who are attending music festivals often like to take fan Banners with them. There are banner printing outlets in Milton Keynes that make it possible for them to do that.

The venue for ‘Diaspora Calling’ will be Milton National Bowl and the line-up will feature a range of musical styles, including Afrobeat, hip-hop and reggae. There will also be a food village that will sell all kinds of African inspired cuisine.

This festival is scheduled to come to the city on 7 August.
