The event was organised to raise money towards a coffee bar for local people, and the table top helped to secure the impressive sum of £577 – which took the organisers that bit nearer to achieving their fundraising target.
The day was a tremendous success all round, with in excess of 200 residents of the town opting to browse stalls offering everything from jewellery and children’s toys to CDs and Books. They were also able to participate in games, such as guessing the number of Roman tiles to be found in the tower of the church, and witnessed a performance by the bell ringers.
One of the organisers, Vanessa Bergman, said:
“It was such a lovely day. The sun was shining and lots of people came out to support the cause. We already have some funding for the coffee bar from the Heritage Lottery Fund, but now we’re £577 better off which is great.”
All of the money raised will be put towards the building of the coffee bar, with approximately £10,000 needed overall. Already the organisers have begun to plan further fundraising efforts, with a flower festival set for early October, and the promotional flyer printing help of Print shops in Edgware could ensure similarly strong turnouts.Get a Free Quote for Books Get a Free Quote for Print
