This project has been called the Screen Skills Plan and the hope is that it will make the borough a UK-leader in that sector. The council has teamed up with local screen companies, Troubadour Studios, Barnet & Southgate College and Middlesex University on the plan. It will enable further education graduates and other young people to learn skills and start work in such industries as television, film, digital media and gaming.
At the heart of the Screen Skills Plan are four targets: Education, Entrepreneurship, Environment and Equal Access. The young people who sign up for it will be given a mix of mentorship, training and real-world work experience.
