The company behind them is Gracie Group, which is a firm that deals in luxury real estate. It wants to build a development that would combine housing with retail and commercial spaces.
At the centre of the plans is the Railway Hotel, which is a building that holds Grade II listed status. Gracie Group wants to convert it into an all-round community hub.
This would see a pub and restaurant created on the ground floor, while the other floors are turned into flexible working spaces and a venue for live cultural events. The planning application points out that it is a significant building that is currently disused.
