The inpatient unit of North London Hospice that is located in Finchley will be rebuilt at a cost of £10 million. This means a temporary replacement is needed and Edgware Community Hospital is set to provide one of its wards. The Jade Ward will serve as an inpatient unit for the hospice until the work has been completed. The hospice has reached an agreement with NHS Property Services for that to happen.
Although it represents a good overall solution to the problem, it does mean a reduction in capacity. The unit at Finchley has a total of 15 beds, whereas the ward at Edgware Community Hospital has just 12.
According to the Barnet Post, a hospice spokesperson said:
“We have assessed our occupancy levels over the past 12 months and believe the needs of the community will continue to be met in our temporary inpatient unit and through our community nursing teams.”
When changes are being planned, local medical organisations may need to contact their patients by letter. Adding Letterheads created by Edgware Print shops can reassure people that the letters are official.
The work on the inpatient unit in Woodside Avenue is scheduled to get underway during August. The reconstructed facility should be ready for opening by autumn 2027.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Letterheads
