Revamp planned for town centre in Edgware

The town centre in Edgware is set to undergo a major process of regeneration, with the news that its main retail hub has been sold to a developer.

The new owner of the Broadwalk Shopping Centre is Ballymore, a property development firm. The deal it has agreed will see it assume full control of the centre that measures 190,000 sq ft and is adjacent to Edgware Underground Station. Now it owns this 13-acre area, the firm is set to collaborate with the local council on ambitious Plans for reviving the heart of the town.

Ballymore has also indicated that it will seek input from people living in the district before moving ahead with any redevelopment. The company’s chairman, Sean Mulryan, told Property Funds World that Ballymore is very experienced at bringing town centres back to life, before adding:

“Connected by the Northern Line to central London, this is a fantastic area with incredible potential for a mixed-use development with new homes, shops and businesses.”

Brochure printing supplied by Print shops in Edgware can be useful in showcasing development Plans to local people before any work begins.

A consultation process involving residents is likely to be the next step. Among the previous regeneration projects Ballymore has undertaken are ones in Nine Elms, Canary Wharf, Brentford and Dublin.
