Play area to be built on estate in Edgware

Plans have been announced for the building of a multiple use area for exercise and play at a housing estate in Edgware.

The idea behind the proposal is that this area will help residents of the estate enjoy better mental and physical health. The local council has confirmed that it will be setting aside over £15,000 for the creation of this area, which will include equipment for an outdoor gymnasium, a basketball hoop and a fresh surface for playing on. It will be situated within Edgware’s Stonegrove estate, as part of its OneStonegrove community centre.

Children have been using some of the ground around this centre for play purposes for a year now, since the regeneration of the estate was completed, but the need to park cars there has caused damage to it, making it vital that a specialist area is created to replace it.

Community centres sometimes seek the help of places that provide Letterheads, for their newsletters and other informative materials. Speaking to Times Series, Edgware councillor Brian Gordon stated:

“This is going to benefit thousands of people. Already, thousands of people benefit from what happens at Stonegrove, and this will improve the situation immensely.”

The money being provided by the council will be made available through the community infrastructure charge that all project developers are required to pay.
