Suzie Simons founded the charity called Eye Matter and still serves as its CEO. She suffers from sight loss and created the charity to offer social inclusion, support and different activities to others in the same position. Now she is in contention for a gong at the 2024 See Differently Awards that are organised by the Royal National Institute of Blind People.
The prize that she has been shortlisted for is Volunteer of the Year. It is well deserved as she provides voluntary services to the charity on a full-time basis. These include setting up hundreds of different events – both in-person and over the internet – every year.
Local charities like this one can highlight awards wins by going to shops in Edgware that provide business card printing. That will enable them to get new cards that refer to the wins.
Speaking to the Barnet Post, Simons stated that she was proud of the charity, adding:
“It’s grown into a community which supports its participants by educating, empowering, and giving confidence through its work and to enable its members to help each other do things which previously seemed out of reach.”
The ceremony will take place on 21st May.
