Edgware redevelopment project gets outline planning approval

An ambitious project to redevelop part of the centre of Edgware looks like it is set to move forward, with the confirmation that outline planning approval has been granted by Barnet Council.

The council came to that decision during a recent meeting, despite some objections to the project. The Plans have been put together by property developer Ballymore and Places for London, which is the property arm of Transport for London. The two organisations have partnered on the project, which revolves around the Broadwalk Shopping Centre. This was bought by Ballymore five years ago.

It has been a fixture of Edgware town centre since the 1990s, but it could now be knocked down. The plan is to demolish it before building a replacement centre, which would have a podium situated above. This would be used for housing, with around 3,365 homes set to be constructed.

When property developers want to showcase new homes they have built in the local area, brochure printing by Edgware shops can be useful. This can supply them with Brochures featuring colour photographs of the homes.

In addition to the new centre and housing, the project would also involve the creation of a park. It would be called Deans Brook Nature Park and would be located on land at the rear of the centre.

The first phase would be finished by 2031.
