Kai Tunstall contracted cerebral palsy at the age of just two and has been left suffering from spastic dipelgia. This is a condition that impacts the lower limbs, leaving the youngster reliant on walking frames and wheelchairs.
Speaking to a reporter from Times Series, his mum Bianca said:
“When he was diagnosed at two years old, the doctors told me he was lucky, as cerebral palsy can affect speech as well.”
He attends Great Ormond Street Hospital for physiotherapy treatment, but surgery is needed if he is to be able to walk without assistance. Now, Bianca has started up a campaign called ‘Kai Will Walk’ in a bid to secure the funds and has created wristbands and T-Shirts to help with this.
Her efforts have already brought in over £800, but with the summer pencilled in as the potential date for the operation, she is aiming to generate as much interest in the appeal as possible over the next few months.
Friends and family have put together a charity football game as a way of raising cash and publicity for the campaign.
Edgware charity campaigns often use flyer printing for publicity purposes.
