Edgware hospital visited by French doctors

Some of France’s most highly regarded psychiatrists paid a visit to Edgware Community Hospital recently, as they sought to gain insight into the ways GPs work with mental health trusts.

These doctors also

spent time at the Mental Health NHS Trust for Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, due to their desire to examine the work it does and its hotline that allows GPs to discuss complex mental health conditions with specialists.

The doctors who visited the area are members of the Association Nationale des Psychiatres in France and they were led by Dr Marie-Noelle Petit, its president. She said that they were aware that excellent work was taking place within England when it comes to patient care and were keen to witness it first-hand.

The visit to Edgware Community Hospital, which is located on Burnt Oak Broadway, was organised by Stephanie Vergnaud – a BEH consultant psychiatrist – and the French Embassy.

Speaking to Barnet Today, Vergnaud said:

“France is one of our closest neighbours and while they have much to learn from us, we have much to learn from them too. I was delighted that the French delegation wanted to visit BEH.”

Local hospitals such as this one often make use of places that can supply Stationery printing, to make sure they have the administrative tools they need.

Vergnaud added that the sharing of ideas could bring about further collaboration.
