Top 1980s rock band coming to Basingstoke

A band that enjoyed considerable success during the 1980s with a blend of rock and folk music will be coming to Basingstoke for a gig later this year. Tickets for the gig are already available.

The Waterboys had a worldwide hit back in the middle of the ‘80s with their song ‘The Whole of the Moon’ and the accompanying album called ‘This is the Sea.’ They then followed it up with other successful albums, including the stripped back acoustic-based ‘Fisherman’s Blues’ in 1988. The band is led by its Scottish singer and main songwriter Mike Scott and still has a healthy following.

That means tickets for the concert in Basingstoke are likely to sell very quickly. The venue for it will be The Anvil, and fans can expect to hear both classic tunes from the past and songs from more recent albums ‘Good Luck, Seeker’ and ‘An Appointment with Mr Yeats.’

There are shops in Basingstoke that can provide themed giveaway Promotional Products to help advertise upcoming concerts like this one. This can ensure that fans who are not online still hear about them.

This concert may not only attract longstanding fans though. ‘The Whole of the Moon’ has appeared in hit television shows recently, with younger artists having covered the band’s songs, introducing them to a new audience.

The gig will take place on 24th October.
