Basingstoke pantomime lands top soap star

One of the country’s top soap opera stars will come to Basingstoke at the end of the year, to play a leading role in the annual pantomime.

Ellie Dadd has become a household name in the UK for playing Amy Mitchell in Eastenders. Now, she is set to step out of that role and into the shoes of Belle, in an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. This will be one of the highpoints of the festive season in the town and securing a big-name star for the lead is sure to boost ticket sales.

The venue for the pantomime will be The Anvil and it will be put together by UK Productions. When local venues want to promote upcoming shows before they open, poster printing by Basingstoke shops can help. Posters can be an excellent form of advertising.

Martin Dodd works for UK Productions as its pantomime producer. Speaking to the Basingstoke Gazette, he said that Dadd was the ideal person to portray Belle.

He then went on to add:
“She brings talent galore to the role and enough spirit to tame any beast – so make sure you snap up your tickets before they disappear like the Beast’s good manners.”

Dadd is an established pantomime performer and played Belle last year for a show in Croydon.

Beauty and the Beast will be in Basingstoke between 10 December and 3 January.
