The Basingstoke Festival will mark its 15th anniversary this year. As on previous occasions, it will include entertainment for people of all ages, from jugglers to live theatrical performances. The events that form part of this festival are completely free to attend and consist of community, culture and arts shows, most of which take place outdoors.
The festival will kick off with a parade that promises to be a riot of colour and sound. Its theme will be Parade of the Mythical Beasts and will see participants wear suitable fancy-dress costumes. The location for it will be the Top of the Town and it is being organised by Scratch Built Productions.
Other highpoints are set to include the acrobatic comedy Zig Zag by Autin Dance Theatre, a fresh twist on Alice in Wonderland by Pumpkin Pantos, and circus show Pirate Taxi by Pirates of the Carabina.
