Tech event to be held in Basingstoke

An event that will bring a number of experts from the fields of marketing, business, and the creative arts is set to be held in Basingstoke towards the end of the month.

Called The Big IoT Hack Weekend, it will see teams made up of students, amateur enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and digital developers using the skills they have to produce any project that takes their fancy. The principle aim behind it is to come up with new smart tech that can improve things for businesses, communities and individuals in the Basingstoke area.

This event is the brainchild of a collective made up of Incuhive, DeskLodge, TechJuice, the SETsquared Partnership and the local council. The hope is that the ideas developed will give the town’s digital economy a shot in the arm. Graphic Design Services are often used to showcase innovative new tech projects.

The venue will be DeskLodge and the participating teams will be mentored by representatives from Pycom and Microsoft. Speaking to the Basingstoke Gazette, Hannah Golding, from the council said:

“It promises to be an intensive but fun weekend and I’m sure it will attract some of the best technical and entrepreneurial talent in the borough. I’m looking forward to seeing some exciting projects emerge over the weekend.”

It will take place on the weekend of 26th-28th April.
