Sports complex in Basingstoke may get improvements

It is hoped that further improvements can be made to a sports complex in Basingstoke, after Plans for this work were submitted to the local council for approval.

These Plans are for additional work to enhance the Winklebury Football Complex facilities, with the aim of preparing it for Basingstoke Town Community Football Club to move into it. There has already been a significant amount of work carried out at the complex, including the installation of a cutting edge 3G pitch that will be used for home games by the club once it relocates to the facility.

One part of this new proposal would see the Winklebury Football Complex open during the evenings in the middle of the week, so that Basingstoke Town Community Football Club can use it for mid-week games. Small football clubs of this sort sometimes use local brochure printing services to provide them with match day programmes.

The application also includes Plans for the main stand to have 34 more seats added, a cover for the terracing and brand new turnstiles as well as a number of changes for the club house at the complex, to make it better for users.

Although Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council now has the proposals, no date has yet been set for a decision on whether they will get the green light.
