Jody Scheckter, the 1979 F1 world champion has owned and managed Laverstoke Park Farm for a number of years. Running the venture with his wife Clare, the couple decided to launch the new brand after a chance meeting with a dog nutrition advisor.
The South African former racer explained how Sharon Daly's shopping trip essentially dropped the green flag for the project:
“I always fed our own two Ridgebacks on processed food. Then Sharon came to the farm wanting to buy some raw fresh meat for her dogs.
“I realised that dog owners like Sharon who feed raw, desired the same for their dogs as I do for myself and my family.”
According to Scheckter, the idea seemed to make perfect sense. Going on to say that it was applying the same philosophies and principles to keeping his dogs as he was applying to help his family stay fit and healthy, a partnership was formed.
A marketing drive to include all manner of Stationery printing will likely ensue now, advertising the benefits of raw food.
According to the blurb from the farm, the raw meat, which comes from the Scheckter's own abattoir, provides a diet which is entirely natural.
