When Vanessa Tolson begins her role as the president of the Loddon Valley Lions Club next month, she will be the first woman to hold that position. The club is situated in Tadley, not far from Basingstoke, and organises activities to raise cash for projects aimed at the local community. Now she is hoping to persuade more people to sign up to the club.
At the moment, Loddon Valley Lions Club has 32 members in total, with Tolson herself having become a member two years ago, alongside her late husband. She has been serving as its vice-president, but is now being promoted to president. Local clubs sometimes use Stationery printers for their official newsletters.
Speaking to the Basingstoke Gazette, she stated that her work for the charity had helped her after the death of her husband, before adding:
“Our group raises around £25,000 per year from our fundraising and it is given to worthy causes in our local area, a small percentage is given to disasters abroad as Lions are an international group.”
She takes over as president on 7th July and anyone interested in joining can do so via the charity website.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
