Panattoni to create three Basingstoke warehouses

The real estate developer Panattoni is set to build a scheme consisting of three warehouses at a site in Basingstoke, although which firms will occupy them is as yet not clear.

Together with the Industrial Property Investment Fund (IPIF) for Legal & General, Panattoni will build these warehouses at a site that was formerly home to a Motorola factory. The company has purchased the site in question, which covers 11 acres and is just a couple of miles from the M3 motorway Junction 6 and Basingstoke town centre.

Speaking to LogisticsManager.com, Panattoni development director Oliver Bertram stated:

“V Park Basingstoke is being delivered at speed and we are looking forward to completing these ready for occupation by the end of Q2 2022. Demolition of the former Motorola factory is set to start in June this year.”

He went on to add that the finished facility could potentially lead to the creation of full-time employment for more than 215 people in the area. The companies that move into the warehouses will be able to rely on local outlets that supply printed Business Cards and similar items.

The three warehouses that will make up the finished development are set to be constructed in an energy efficient way, utilising cutting-edge net carbon zero tech, in the hopes of making them more environmentally friendly and reducing the operating costs.
