New lounge bar to open in Basingstoke

A brand new nightlife option could be opening its doors to people in Basingstoke later this year, with the news that a planning application has been put in for a bar and lounge.

This new venue would be called Alchemy Bar and Lounge, and the developer behind the scheme is hoping to locate it on Winchester Street. If Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council give the necessary planning permission, the venue would move into the unit within the street that was formerly home to Basingstoke Service Centre.

The owner of the space is clearly confident of getting the green light, as a page on Facebook has already been created to help promote it. Flyer printing from local shops can be a useful supplement to this kind of digital advertising when it comes to new bars, clubs or restaurants.

According to its social media profile, the venue will be a luxurious bar and coffee shop targeted at people over the age of 21. The application submitted to the council indicates that the current blue paintwork will be changed to black if permission is granted.

It also says that there are Plans for seats outside that can be used by customers during the summer. The chosen unit has been lying empty since the end of last year.

There is hope that this new venue can be open as early as October.
