Rhod Gilbert has become a household name thanks to regular appearances on the comedy panel shows ‘Would I Lie to You?’ ‘QI’ and ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’. His greatest love, however, is performing live, and his forthcoming tour will be the first time he has done stand-up in front of an audience in four years. It has been titled ‘Rhod Gilbert and the Giant Grapefruit’.
One of the venues he will be performing it at is The Anvil in Basingstoke. He has promised a mixture of light and dark elements in the show, and his battle with a cancer diagnosis is among the subjects that he will wring comedy from.
Given the huge critical success of his last live show, ‘The Book of John’, the demand for tickets will be high. Flyer printing from Basingstoke shops may also be used by the venue to promote interest in the event.
Speaking to the Basingstoke Gazette, Gilbert said:
“I can’t wait to get back on stage and I’m ready to get way too personal about life’s recent ups and downs.”
Gilbert will bring his new show to town on 29th June 2024.
