A band that features genuine folk rock royalty members will be coming to Basingstoke later in the year for a special Christmas concert.
The Albion Christmas Band has secured a devoted fan following thanks to its unique concert mix. This comprises a blend of witty readings, traditional festive carols and spoken word segments. Among its members are a number of legendary figures from the folk rock bands Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention. There is Simon Nicol, who helped to found the latter group, and Ashley Hutchings, who created the former one.
They are joined by Kellie While, to complete the line-up. The band will be coming to Basingstoke as part of their upcoming tour, which celebrates their 25th anniversary. The venue for this show will be The Haymarket.
Christmas is a time of the year when people are keen to go out, so the venue is unlikely to have much trouble selling tickets. Local venues often use graphic design outlets in Basingstoke to help create promotional Posters to promote to a local audience.
The shows the band will perform during this tour are being described as a ‘best of’. This will see them pick some of the finest moments from their quarter of a century as a recording and live act and should bring them another sell-out success.
They will play Basingstoke on 12th December.
