A branch of the popular US hamburger chain Five Guys will be opening in Basingstoke, with the company having now submitted its licensing application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
The eatery is set to occupy a unit at Festival Place that is currently lying empty but that used to house the Gourmet Burger Kitchen outlet before it shut down during September. The company has already begun the process of getting the unit ready for opening and has put black paper over all of the windows so that the public is unable to look inside while this goes on.
Five Guys has built a reputation for itself by creating fast food that uses entirely fresh ingredients and that is prepared for customers as they order it. The foods on offer include hot dogs and hamburgers with a wide range of different toppings.
It has already started advertising for people to work in the Basingstoke branch. When places like this launch they often use items like giveaway Promotional Products to spread the word of their opening.
The application that Five Guys has submitted is seeking a licence to play music and show films throughout its hours of business and to offer drinks that people can have on site or take away with them.
The restaurant is expected to open before the end of the year.
