The perfect night out for fans of classic 1960s soul will be coming to Basingstoke later in the year, as the hugely popular Magic of Motown show hits town for one night only.
Since it was launched 17 years ago, this show has been one of the longest-running triumphs for musical theatre in the UK. It features live performances of no fewer than 40 of the biggest smash hits and cult favourites produced by the legendary Motown label during the decade, backed by top-quality musicians and dancers.
Among the artists whose music will be recreated during the show are the likes of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Supremes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye and The Four Tops. The venue will be local arts centre The Anvil Theatre.
Flyer printing supplied by shops based within Basingstoke is one of many ways venues can promote their upcoming shows, alongside Posters and internet advertising.
This one seems sure to stimulate plenty of demand for tickets, with the organisers having promised that all of the beloved Motown Records tunes will be part of the fun. ‘My Girl’, ‘I Heard it Through the Grapevine’, ‘Dancing in the Streets’ and ‘Baby Love’ are among the classics that will feature.
The Magic of Motown will be in Basingstoke on Thursday, October 6.
