This article appeared in Wired magazine, and it named five places across the UK that have already built a reputation as tech hubs and will see progress speed up as a result of Covid-19 – with Basingstoke being one of the five. The article suggests that the shift to homeworking caused by the pandemic is leading firms to reconsider whether large cities are best for them.
According to the Basingstoke Gazette, it then goes on to add:
“Locations that were already on track to become digital hotspots pre-Covid could be set for a major boost.”
There is no question that Basingstoke is one of those places, with the town having been named the UK’s fourth best spot for investment in technology companies by Tech Nation in 2020.
Tech companies that do settle in the town will be able to find outlets that can Print Business Cards for them to use at networking events, as well as many other useful businesses.
The Wired article cites a total technology investment of £425 million from 2015 to 2018, and it cites the strong transport links to and from London as reasons why 2021 will see Basingstoke become a top UK tech centre.
