Singer Rebecca Strachan enjoyed a brief taste of fame thanks to a YouTube video of her that received scores of hits back in 2007. Strachan had since put her singing dreams on the back burner as she has been training to become a teacher at university.
However, the lure of the limelight has tempted Strachan back for another shot at the big time and her talents are carrying her towards it thanks to the Open Mic UK contest. She commented on this, saying:
“I’m not used to singing on stage. I’m usually singing in the garage and uploading the videos online. I am very nervous but I’m looking forward to the regional final.”
Singers like Rebecca often make their names either by posting videos of their performances online or by playing local gigs publicised with Posters and Flyers, which are created using local Print companies that offer flyer printing. Basingstoke-based Rebecca has achieved a place in the regional finals of the Open Mic UK contest thanks to her hard work and self-promotion and she hopes to secure a spot in the overall UK finals, which are due to be held at the O2 Arena in London.
The winners of the competition will be announced via the UK Open Mic website later this year.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for Print
