Basingstoke set to host car festival again
Basingstoke will be the place to be for all petrol-heads later on in the year, when a popular festival dedicated to all things motoring returns to the town.
The Basingstoke Festival of Transport is an essential visit for anyone with an interest in this subject. The organisers are promising one of the biggest selections of vehicles yet, with over 800 different models set to be on show. These will range from military trucks to fire engines and vintage cars. A number of stalls will also be available alongside special clubs for some of the classic cars.
This festival is a family-oriented event so activities suitable for all ages will be on offer too. They include games and jumble sales, as well as options for getting refreshments during the day.
The organisers of local events like this sometimes get promotional pens made by Basingstoke shops. That is because they can be a good way of spreading the word around.
As in previous years, this festival will completely free to attend. Basingstoke War Memorial is to serve as the venue for it and the event will last for five hours.
It is put together each year by Basingstoke Deane Rotary and has become a popular spring activity among residents. All money raised will go towards buying thoracoscopy equipment for Basingstoke Hospital. The event will take place on 11th May.
