Vehicle hire firm Enterprise Rent-a-Car is hoping to launch a new branch in Basingstoke, having submitted a change of use application for a unit in the town to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
The company wants to operate out of a space within the Festival Place retail centre that is designated as a storage room at present. It is on the ground floor of the centre, and Enterprise Rent-a-Car is keen to make it into one of its outlets for individuals and businesses to rent vehicles. According to the application, the Plans would include adding parking spaces and a washing bay for the cars.
This application then goes on to point out that the chosen room is not currently being used and that it would primarily serve as the company’s office. The necessary conversion work would involve fitting glazing to its front and putting a new door in.
Companies that set up shop within Basingstoke can get all of the Business Cards and other admin materials that they need from printers based in the town.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car has existing branches in 30 different countries across the world. It provides vans and cars for hire and for shared use at airports and within different locales where it has bases.
If it gets the go-ahead to open in Basingstoke, Enterprise Rent-a-Car will be taking on five local staff members.
