Richard Graham is going to walk the distance between Basingstoke and Selsey, which amounts to 100km. The 34-year-old Plans to complete the entire hike in a single day, and is hoping to secure sponsors for it. He is undertaking this tough challenge on behalf of Saxon Woods School, where his nephew is a pupil. This school admits children with learning difficulties aged up to 11.
Graham has targeted raising a total of £1,500 through his efforts and it is not his first charity fundraiser. During 2024, he managed to raise the same amount for the mental health charity Mind. That was by walking a distance of 70km, which he completed in 16.5 hours.
One of the ways in which local people can raise awareness of activities that they are doing for charity is by using flyer printing from Basingstoke shops. Flyers that contain all of the relevant information can be handed out on the streets.
In an interview with the Basingstoke Gazette, Graham stated that:
“I chose Saxon Woods because I just wanted to raise money for a cause close to my family.”
He is scheduled to undertake his charity hike on 20th June.
