Initially just an online shop selling traditional ciders, The Cider Orchard has already grown into something far bigger. Now, with the help of banner printing in Basingstoke, as well as other marketing ideas, Lee Ocean is taking his venture festivals and trade shows across the country.
Lee even has his own mantra attached to his campaign: “Great British ciders to the Great British public”. It's a slogan that could well be the subject of poster printing in Basingstoke and beyond in future years too.
As part of his initiative, Lee has even appeared at people's weddings to push his message.
It is a passion he has had for more than 15 years, and recent changes to the industry have not made him happy, as he explained:
“I felt the real cider which I love, whether it’s scrumpy or traditionally-made cider with fruit added, has started to get pushed out of the market.”
It was this thinking that saw him set up his business.
As well as attending a number of local events – including the Old Basing Carnival - the business has already secured tie-ups with traditional cider producers.
Whilst appearing in shops is the ultimate aim, Lee is happy to be attending festivals, where he can interact with customers and answer any questions they may have.
