The team will be hot-footing it to Basingstoke Rugby Football Club for this event, which is scheduled to take place on Ark Day. Beaufort Financial came up with the idea and the hope is that around 80 hardy types will commit themselves to this fire walk, with the Ark Cancer Centre Charity set to receive all of the money raised through the sign-up fees.
The burning coals can be anything up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is certainly not for the faint of heart. The director of Beaufort Financial, Mark Dolby, has a personal interest in the charity, as both of his parents had cancer.
Speaking to the Basingstoke Gazette, he stated that they aimed to secure as many participants as they possibly could. Poster printing can sometimes help make people aware of charity fundraisers. He added that:
“A couple of hours out of your day to raise money which will have a huge impact on our lives and our kids’ lives, I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to take part.”
The charity fundraiser is due to take place on 21st June between 4pm and 6pm.
