The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland is the latest adaptation of the celebrated story by Lewis Carroll. It is a production that will feature a combination of live actors and puppets that have been created by Matthew Forbes. He previously worked on designs for War Horse, a National Theatre show that won a number of top industry awards.
This new show is a musical version of the story, but it still has all of the main characters, including the Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit. According to the Basingstoke Gazette, Christopher Brookes, the director, stated that:
“We stay loyal to Lewis Carroll’s original storyline, with the odd tweak here and there. This is a different take on the characters, purely because an actor’s interpretation is never the same.”
