Altrincham Market’s Food Hall is once again occupied by food traders after a period in which COVID-19 completely disrupted their economic activity.
The initial resumption of business took place on a trial basis. Consumers were given the opportunity of accessing takeaway meals and appropriate health and safety regulations were observed. Poster printing can be useful for communication purposes, especially when firms are adapting to significant changes.
Two options were made available to the public. In the late afternoon, customers were given the chance to order from a ‘raw’ menu. This involved meals being ready made to cook at home. In the early evening, people were able to select something from a menu of ready-cooked food that just need to be reheated. Make-your-own pizza and build-your-own burgers were just two features of this menu. Meanwhile, the Jack in the Box bar had the capacity to deliver alcoholic beverages.
The market is going to benefit from its own app. However, the new service was launched before this system was established. As a result, customers could simply phone up to make an order. A spokesperson for the market explained that there had been a reluctance to rely on an external delivery service during the wait for the app.
To begin with, the new arrangement was not going to cover many days of the week. Nevertheless, the intention was always to extend the offer in line with growing demand for the service.
