Altrincham prepares to be entertained
A Garrick amateur theatre production of Agatha Christie’s play The Mirror Crack'd is due to receive a run in Altrincham at the end of February.
The story is set in England in the 1960s, when the country is undergoing rapid change. Indeed, in the quiet village of St. Mary Mead, a new housing estate has been built, leaving the villagers both curious and concerned. A rich American film star has simultaneously purchased the Manor House.
Jane Marple, who is housebound in the aftermath of an accident, feels that life might be passing her by. A murder then takes place, and she seeks to expose the lies in the midst of tragedy. Can the truth be kept hidden from her?
Agatha Christie’s 1962 novel has been adapted for the stage by Rachel Wagstaff and is directed, on this occasion, by Mike Shaw. The Mirror Crack’d is designed to be a psychological thriller, combining themes of revenge and secrecy. They play should appeal to a broad spectrum of tastes.
Tickets for the performance range in price from £13.00 to £18.00. The promotion of a play or theatrical event like this one can be assisted effectively by utilising brochure printing.
The Mirror Crack'd will run from Monday, 23 February to Sunday, 1 March at The Garrick Playhouse in Altrincham, found on Barrington Rd.
