'The Railway Children' is a Garrick Playhouse production of E. Nesbit's popular story, and is due to receive a series of performances in Altrincham in April.
It is the tale of a father forced to leave, at short notice, in unexplained circumstances. Bobbie, Phyllis and Peter then have to relocate, with their mother, to a much smaller cottage in a rural part Yorkshire. Once there, they soon discover life to be quite different. This family adventure centres, for much of its action, around trains.
The children subsequently make new friends, help a series of less fortunate people and avert a disaster. They learn, in the process, that the world is filled with much resilience and love. It captures all the concerns as well as the seminal, imaginative and exhilarating experiences of childhood.
Mike Kenny's adaptation of 'The Railway Children,' on this occasion, is directed by Su Mowat. It was first performed in 2008 at York's National Railway Museum, prior to receiving a full stage production in 2010 at London's Waterloo Station. It is an uplifting story that will appeal to audiences of all ages.
Tickets range in price from £14.00 to £19.00. Brochure printing can greatly assist in the promotion of a play or theatrical show.
'The Railway Children' runs from Tuesday 8th April to Friday 22nd April at Garrick Playhouse, Altrincham.
