Altrincham stages musical drama
'New Dawn Fades - A Play About Joy Division & Manchester' is beginning a UK tour and is due to arrive in Altrincham early in October.
This revised production tells the tale of four young guys who took their inspiration from 1970s Punk. They formed one of pop music's most significant bands. After lead vocalist, Ian Curtis's death, the threesome, now called New Order, was globally successful.
Tony Davidson's and Nigel Carr's contributions are as producers. Whilst the show's writer and director is the award winner, Brian Gorman. He also plays the Factory's Tony Wilson, acting as a guide deep into the band's soul as well as the Manchester scene,
Brian introduces a selection of historically important characters, such as Dr John Dee, Pete Shelly and Paul Morely. This passionate story that is about love and loss, as well as music, takes its cue from Ian Curtis's lyrics with hit tracks from the 1970s.
The show successfully made its debut appearance at Greater Manchester's Fringe Festival, over a decade ago. It presently tours nationwide on a regular basis playing to packed houses.
Tickets range in price from £27.50 to £31.90. Brochure printing shouldn't be underestimated when it comes to the promotion of a stage or theatrical event.
'New Dawn Fades' has a starting time of 8.00 pm on Wednesday 9th October at The Bowdon Rooms, Altrincham.
