Volunteers sought to help with Daffodil Days in Oakville

The yearly Daffodil Days campaign is an important fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, and it is looking to members of the public in the Oakville area to help make it a success.

Volunteers are being sought to sell the daffodil pins and also to act as site managers for several locations in Oakville, Georgetown, Burlington, and Milton. The time commitment for site managers would be one to two hours a day, while those who sell the pins can sign up for shifts that last three hours. Drivers are also being sought to deliver the pins.

In a media release, the Cancer Society noted that volunteers play an essential role in the campaign, and without their help, it will not succeed. It also noted that the funds raised go towards helping to support cancer research and those battling the disease.

Lending a hand benefits the volunteers by providing them with a chance to learn new skills, socialize and work as part of a team. Poster printing can be used to create promotional materials for fundraising events such as this.

The dates for this year’s Daffodil Days have been set as March 31st until April 3rd and April 7th until April 10th. Those who would like to volunteer are asked to get in touch with Sandy McDonald at 905-845-5231, or can visit the Canadian Cancer Society’s website.
