Ribfest to expand in Oakville
The Oakville Family Ribfest will be back and bigger than ever this year, expanded to four days at a large paved site.
The festival is one of the largest summer outdoor events in the city, and is a collaboration of the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar and the Oakville Lions Club. The festival features a number of grill crews, or “ribbers”, who will compete to see who can offer the tastiest beef and pork ribs and other barbecue favourites. There will also be a number of other food vendors, representing the full breadth of Oakville’s diversity.
This year will feature a new semi-indoor market under a large, weatherproof tent, offering the potential to shop from local artisans and small businesses. Vendors at marketplaces like this frequently use special sales and promotional products to help appeal to new customers.
In addition to the food and shopping, Family Ribfest will have all the trappings of a classic summer festival. There will be a midway with family-friendly rides and games, a beer garden for the grown-ups, and live music by local artists. All net proceeds will go towards local charities through the Rotary Club and Lions Club organizations.
The 2025 Oakville Family Ribfest will take place at the Trafalgar Campus of Sheridan College from June 19 to 22. Children under eight will receive free admission.
