The 22nd annual TD Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival is taking place in the city for two days this August. It is presented by the Downtown Oakville Business Improvement Area.
Lakeshore Road E. will be closed off from Navy to Allan Streets for the two days of the festival. Performers from all over the world and in genres of music such as Latin, Dixieland, world music, ragtime, swing, and blues will be entertaining the crowds on seven stages. Guests are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets to enjoy the concerts.
Among this year's performers will be the Merriam School of Music, the Soul Motivators, Manteca, Subourbon Street, and Ginger St. James and the Grinders.
The festival will also be presenting its Youth in the Spotlight series, which will be showcasing the talents up and coming local performers.
Downtown businesses, restaurants, and patios will be open to provide services to those who plan to attend.
This is a popular event in Oakville and it's likely to be widely advertised throughout the region. Flyer printing services might have been used to supply marketing materials that are easily distributed.
The TD Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival is taking place from August 8th to 9th. Admission is free. To find out more about this year's event, or to get more up to date information on performers, call 905-844-4520.
