The event encourages individuals and families to participate through a live-stream on their computer or other devices. Participants will answer trivia questions on a variety of subjects, with the top three scores winning Amazon gift cards. Let’s Get Quizzical was created in 2020 as a socially distant alternative to the traditional Ken Bradwell Soccer Tournament, named after a long-time Burlington Soccer Club player and manager. Marketing material emphasizes the flexibility of the challenge:
“If you know the answers to these and other questions on a number of different topics, join us for an evening of fun … right from the comfort of your own home. Or the cottage, or in front of a cozy fire, or wherever you are!”
Funds raised will go towards Joseph Brant Hospital, Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, and Juravinski Cancer Centre. The trivia contest will be hosted by Hub of the Hammer Event Management’s Matthew Surna and Director of the Ken Bradwell Soccer Tournament Les Bell. Charitable events like this often use methods such as flyer printing and social media to reach out to people looking to have fun while contributing to a good cause.
The 2023 edition of Let’s Get Quizzical will take place digitally on the evening of March 6.
