Autumn is here once again, and that means the leaves are falling and the Town of Oakville will be adding loose leaf collection to their waste collection schedule.
Community residents are requested to have their leaves placed in loose piles either on the shoulder or the boulevards of designated neighborhoods, and to make sure they do not accumulate in ditches or catch basins. They are also asked to ensure that the leaves are free of any other debris from their yards such as stones, large twigs, branches or brush, and to not include any garbage with the leaves.
The fallen leaves can be placed out no sooner than seven days prior to the first day of the pickup schedule for their area, and no later than seven in the morning on the first collection day.
Any leaves that have any of the above listed prohibited items, as well as any that are put out too late will not be picked up, and homeowners will be responsible to find some other way of disposing of them. A newsletter printing company can produce community bulletins that include information about events such as this that can be mailed out to every household in the area, which can keep them up to date with the attest goings on in their community.
The pick ups will take place between October 13th and November 27th. Anyone who requires further information is asked to call Service Oakville at 905-8456601.
