The residents of Oakville are gearing up for some summer fun with two outdoor festivals taking place in the area in August. The events will give people the chance to make the most of the short season.
The 48th annual Art in the Park festival is presented by the Oakville Art Society and is one of its major fundraising events. It features more than 175 artisans who will be selling their various art projects, such as watercolour creations, oil paintings and ceramic items. There will also be a beer garden, musical entertainment, and food stalls.
Later in August, the Shine Festival will raise funds for the Arterio Venous Malformation Research and Awareness Fund. It will feature food vendors, live entertainment and musical performances from artists such as Rebekah Stevens, Colin James Clark, Barry Szeto, and J'Nai.
Organizers of both fundraising events will no doubt be investing in services such as flyer and banner printing from Oakville Print companies. With the right promotional items, they can be sure of a sizeable turn-out, meaning more money for future projects.
Art in the Park will take place on August 5 at Bronte Waterfront Heritage Park from 10:00am - 5:00pm. Admission is $5 for adults and free for those aged 12 and under. For more information about this event, call 905-827-5711.
The Shine Festival will be happening at Coronation Park on August 17 from 3:30 - 10:30pm. Tickets are $20. For more information, visit the AVM Research and Awareness Fund's website.
