An Oakville day of learning is being offered for healthcare professionals to help them be better equipped to provide services to their transgender patients.
The Primary Care for Trans and Gender-Diverse Clients: Hormones and Preventative Care symposium will focus on topics that will make it easier for physicians and other healthcare providers to offer their trans patients care that is community based, holistic and meets their needs. There will also be a discussion about the initiation and maintenance of hormone therapy through monitoring and adjusting dosages.
Those who attend the function will also have a chance to learn more about disease screening and prevention guidelines for patients who are transgendered, and there will also be a talk about the current protocols that exist in the province, including informed consent. Finally, a review of the current supports that exist in communities, as well as a vision for the future, will be presented to the delegates. Wide format printing can be used to produce signage, Banners and other visual materials for an event like this.
The organizers reminded those who are interested in attending that registration is required for the day, which will be taking place at 2030 Bristol circle in Oakville on January 31. There is no fee being charged to the participants, and additional details can be found by visiting the organizer’s website.
