Oakville Remembrance Day celebrations

The city of Oakville, and communities across Canada, will today commemorate its veterans lost in the war, with services and parades planned. Local printing companies will no doubt have a part to play in this solemn occasion, which will encourage the participation of the entire community.

General Chris Vokes Branch 486, from The Royal Canadian Legion in Bronte, will observe the occasion today, November 4, earlier than the traditional celebrations on November 11. The local chapter provides assistance to the facilities of veterans and the entire community.

The Veterans Day Parade is set to depart promptly at 10:30 am this morning outside the Legion at 79 Jones Street, before proceeding towards the Bronte Cenotaph for service and laying of the wreaths. The Veterans Day Parade will be followed by a midday luncheon for all attendees. The Royal Canadian Legion Oakville branch 114 will also follow up with its traditional yearly service on November 11.

Both the Bronte region Branch 486 and the Oakville branch 114 can benefit tremendously from poster printing services or banner printing services to encourage local residents to become involved in community events to support veterans’ causes and other upcoming events. Local printers can also assist in supporting the Royal Canadian Legion’s commitment to educating youth on patriotism, leadership, and awareness of civic duty.

Other events planned in November to support the Bronte branch include the Grey Cup Party & Ham Dinner on November 25 and Dinner Shows & Dance on November 17.
