Oakville March of Dimes undertakes yearly door-to-door campaign

The March of Dimes recently held a door-to-door campaign to raise funds to help those in Oakville who live with a physical disability.

According to Mary Lynne Stewart, who is the March of Dimes Canada director of Fund development and Communications, it hopes to have raised at least $15,000. She further noted that the community is a very generous one, and she feels confident that they will have donated what they could to make a difference in the lives of others. A company that prints business Forms can custom design ones that fit the needs of an individual fund raising campaign.

Though this house-to-house collection of donations has traditionally been held in January, this year it was rescheduled to November because of the harsh winter weather canvassers experienced last year.

Funds raised will be put towards the programs that are offered through the organization, such as providing assistive devices to help those undergoing physical rehabilitation, and also their Conductive Education program that gives those living with a physical challenge an opportunity to socialize with others. The assistive Devices program, which is entirely funded through donor dollars, was able to provide equipment with a value of more than $100,000 to those in the local community who needed it.
