Oakville’s upcoming Jazz Festival is getting some crucial funding to help support the local event and ensure its success.
Running from August 10th - 12th, the Oakville Jazz Festival is expected to draw thousands of residents and local tourists to the area and will receive $75,000 in government funding from the Celebrate Ontario 2012 Program. The festival will offer an exciting advertizing opportunity to local Print companies as well.
Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn publicly made the funding announcement to the Downtown BIA Jazz Committee recently. In his announcement, Flynn praised the government’s commitment to monetarily support and market the Jazz Festival, which is an important and well-known local summer festival contributing to the local economy.
This summer’s jazz festivities marks the annual event’s 20th year and will include a host of performances on strategic outdoor stages throughout Oakville. Several highly-anticipated talents are featuring at this year's event, including Allen Tousssaint, John Hammond, Peter Appleyard, Joey DeFrancesco, Tierney Sutton, and others.
The new funding will mean that Print companies will more effectively be able to market the jazz festival as a cultural and artistic experience in downtown Oakville. Some of the printing services that local printers can offer include poster printing of artists or brochure printings of scheduled events and programming throughout the weekend.
Printed Signs will also be helpful in helping to guide tourists, as streets will be closed in this walking-friendly event.
